Piel de Sapo translated from Spanish means skin of the frog. Again we source the seed Europe. Despite its green exterior, it has a great flavor. It is the most popular variety in Brazil where it is often juiced to make a great tropical drink on a hot day. it is the number two seller at our company retail stand at the local Farmer’s Market.
Ripeness
To find a ripe Piel de Sapo look for a dark green color with flecks of gold between the stripes.
Cleaning
Since melons grow on the ground, it’s only logical to make sure they’re perfectly clean on the outside before cutting them. Run cool water over the melon before eating to remove any surface dirt that may remain.
Storage
Turlock Fruit melons are picked vine-ripened so they should immediately be stored in a refrigerator. Cover cut melons with plastic and store no more than 3 days.
