Honeydew Season
July – October
Honeydew melon has a white to creamy exterior appearance. The flesh of the honeydew is green and white. Fully ripe melons have a honey flavor, are very juicy and have a soft melt in your mouth texture.
Ripeness
To find a ripe Honeydew look for a light creamy color and a waxy feel to the skin of the fruit.
Cleaning
Since melons grow on the ground, it’s only logical to make sure they’re perfectly clean on the outside before cutting them. Run cool water over the melon before eating to remove any surface dirt that may remain.
Storage
Turlock Fruit melons are picked vine-ripened so they should immediately be stored in a refrigerator. Cover cut melons with plastic and store no more than 3 days.
