Casaba Season
July – September
Casaba have a slightly wrinkled hard shell and flattened round shape. Casabas have a white tender flesh and a juicy subtle sweetness.
Ripeness
To find a ripe Casaba look for a bright yellow color on the blossom end.
Cleaning
Since melons grow on the ground, it’s only logical to make sure they’re perfectly clean on the outside before cutting them. Run cool water over the melon before eating to remove any surface dirt that may remain.
Storage
Turlock Fruit melons are picked vine-ripened so they should immediately be stored in a refrigerator. Cover cut melons with plastic and store no more than 3 days.
