Food Safety
As an added insurance for our customers, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), an independent food-safety laboratory, tests our melons for pesticide residue and insues a Nutri Clean certificate that covers all aspects of growing, packing, and shipping. SCS also provides a complete food-safety audit that ensures that Good Management Practices (GMPs) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) are in place for everything from irrigation to overall field sanitation.

The safety of our products is our top priority. As part of our quality-assurance program, we use the latest Integrated Pest Management techniques. We employ an independent pest-control advisor, licensed by the State of California, to walk our fields looking for natural-predator alternatives before we turn to any other controls. Only after we've exhausted the natural-predator option do we turn to crop-protection products. That's the confidence the Turlock Fruit label brings to the consumer.
